About Us

Mission

The Lewis & Clark Literacy Council helps adults acquire the reading, writing, English language and workforce skills needed so that they may participate productively within their families and their communities.

We provide free direct instruction and materials to adult learners. The Lewis & Clark Literacy Council also trains volunteer tutors who work one-to-one with their students. Promoting public awareness and support of adult and family literacy issues is also our goal.

History

Founded in 1988 the Lewis & Clark Literacy Council has continually grown since its inception. The L&CLC is a licensed non-profit with 501(c)(3) status, an accredited affiliate of ProLiteracy and a member agency of United Way.
