The Lewis & Clark Literacy Council is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, and a member agency of Lewis & Clark County United Way. The organization is further supported by grants, gifts, fundraising and private donations. The L&C Literacy Council takes great care in spending your donation wisely. Our extensive use of volunteers makes our organization extremely efficient. We use the accountability standards of the Wise Giving Guide as our model.

Help Us Build Our Adult Literacy Library

Our campaign for this year (2007) is striving to always have enough adult literacy materials available for both our students and their volunteer tutors. With the increase in numbers of both tutors and students, our need for books has increased. Please join us in our efforts to build and maintain our Adult Literacy Library.

What Your Gift Would Mean

  • $36 supplies two textbooks

  • $50 supplies extra reading manuals & workbooks for students

  • $100 buys in-service training sessions for already certified tutors

  • $500 under-writes training Materials for Volunteer Tutors

  • $650 under-writes Trainer Stipend for Tutor Training Sessions

  • $1000 sponsors “Volunteer Tutor of the Year” Banquet & Celebration
